Frequently Asked Questions
Add employee's information in the "Personnel" tab of the software.
Setup your global rules in the "Attendance" tab of the software under the "Rule" section.
Setup your shift breaks (break time subsection) under the "Shift" section
Setup your clock-in / clock-out times for different shifts (timetables subsection), i.e., 1st shift, 2nd shift.
Assign your timetables to a schedule of days, i.e., Monday - Friday 1st shift, under the shift subsection.
Assign your employees the schedules you just created under the "Schedule" section, "Employee Schedule". If all employees are on the same schedule and are assigned to the same department you can just assign them all to the 1 schedule in "Department Schedule" instead.
In the "Attendance Tab" start by creating a shift break in the "Break Time" drop down under "Shift".
Scheduled breaks to create as an example would be a first shift lunch break with the break "Start
Time", "End Time" and "Duration" as required inputs.
On the upper right of the inputs box there is a drop down with the options "Auto Deduct" or
"Required Punch". These are the meanings of those options,
Auto Deduct - This will automatically deduct the time you input as the break duration from the
employees daily time.
Required Punch - This requires the employee to clock out for the start of break and to clock back in
at the end of the break.
The "Rule Settings" by default are set to your "Global Rules". If you want an exception for a particular
break you can change the "Duplicate Punch Period" drop down from "Rule Based" to "User Defined"
and input the settings for the break.
A timetable are the clock-in and clock-out times for each shift, i.e., 1st shift starts at 7AM and ends at
3PM, 2nd shift starts at 3PM and ends at 11PM,
You would create a timetable for 1st shift and another timetable for 2nd shift.
Under the shift section and shift subsection you can assign the timetables to particular days, i.e.,
create a weekdays 1st shift by clicking the add button and assigning the 1st shift timetable to
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Repeat this process for 2nd shifts, weekends, etc.
Once you have created your break times and assigned them to your timetables and created shifts
you can create the employee schedule.
Click the "Add Schedule" button in the "Schedule" section, "Employee Schedule" subsection, select
the employee(s) and the shift you want to assign them to.
Ensure to fill in the "Start Date" and "End Date", if you change your employees schedule weekly then
set it for a week, if the employee will be on the same schedule indefinitely then set the end date out
in the future.
Server Address: 1. Navigate to the menu screen by pressing on the MENU button and verifying you are the admin by your fingerprint. If there are not users registered on the machine nor admins, simply press the MENU button to access the menu.
2. Scroll to COMM. Menu option and click ‘ok’
3. Click on ‘Cloud Server Settings’
4. Scroll down and change the Server Address to your computer's local IPV4 address found on a previous step.
a. Example IP: 192.168.1.100
5. Ensure the port number is set to 80.
Gateway & IP Address:
1. Navigate to the menu screen by pressing on the MENU button and verifying you are the admin by your fingerprint. If you have not set up admin privileges or any employees yet, you can simply enter the menu by pressing the MENU button.
2. Scroll to COMM. Menu option and click ‘ok’
3. Click on ‘Ethernet’
4. Scroll to ‘Gateway’ and ensure you input the same IP address as your ‘Default Gateway’ found in an earlier step on your computer.
a. Example IP: 192.168.1.1
5. Scroll down to ‘IP Address’. This is where you’ll assign an IP address for your machine. The assigned IP address must start with your ‘Gateway’ Prefix (the first three sections of your Gateway IP).
a. For example, if your Gateway IP is 192.168.1.1, the prefix is 192.168.1. Knowing this, and that your IPv4 address is 192.168.1.100, you can assign the machine's IP address by combining the Gateway prefix with a unique number that is outside the range of the last number in your Gateway IP and IPv4 address. 255 is the highest number you can choose. For instance, if you choose 150, the machine's IP address will be 192.168.1.150.
b. BEFORE ASSIGNING the IP address to your timeclock, ensure this new IP address is not already used in your network. On your desktop, click on the windows search bar and type in "Command Prompt", open it and type in "arp -a". You should see a list of IP addresses, ensure the one you plan to assign does NOT already exist on that list. Once you've confirmed that, go ahead and assign your new Machine IP Address
Troubleshooting: TimeClock Fails to Connect (Red Status Bubble)
If your TimeClock fails to connect and shows a red status bubble, the issue is most likely due to one of the following:
Turn off HTTPS in the MENU -> PC Connections -> Disable HTTPS
The IP address is incompatible with your current network settings.
Step-by-Step Fix:
NOTE: Ensure HTTPS is disabled in your TimeClock. Menu→ COMM→PC Connections, ensure "HTTPS" is disabled.
1. Assign a New IP Address to the TimeClock
Choose a new IP address by following these guidelines:
It must be outside the range of your computer's current IPv4 address and Default Gateway.
It must not be currently in use on your network.
2. Check if the IP Address Is Already in Use
Click the Windows Search Bar, type "Command Prompt", and open it.
Type: arp -a and press Enter.
A list of IP addresses will appear. Make sure the new IP address you plan to use is not listed.
3. Enter the New IP Address
Input the new IP address directly into the TimeClock.
On your computer, refresh the TimeClock software screen. If this doesn't work, remove the device on the software and add it back with the new assigned IP address for the timeclock.
4. Still Not Working?
Try using another unused IP address and repeat the steps above.
5. Need Help?

A yellow triangle generally means you've assigned Area #1 (Not Authorized) to your timeclock in the software. Fix: Create a new area and assign this new area to your timeclock during the pairing process.
